Green Rooibos:  An unfermented tea whose origin is South Africa, with a mildly sweet and light flowery flavor.

Yerba Mate:   A South American Tea with mild caffeine.

Red Rooibos:  A fermented version of Green Rooibos, with a deep red brown color, and a full flavor, with a hint of sweetness.

Honeybush:   The origin of this deliciously sweet tea is South Africa, and it has a full body with a deep brown red color.

Green:  Tea originating from the Camellia Sinensis plant which is processed in different ways to produce distinct variations in body & flavor of tea

Alternatives to Coffee:  These blends are great alternatives to coffee!

Tisanes: [tih-ZAN, tih-ZAHN]
Commonly called herb tea , a tisane is a tealike drink made by steeping any of various herbs, flowers, spices, fruit, etc. in boiling water. Such brews have long been used for their calming and rejuvenating qualities. Some of the herbs more commonly used for tisane blends are hibiscus, balm, chamomile, mint, and elderberry.

Red Rooibos:  [rui-bossl]

Rooibos is becoming more popular in Western countries particularly amongst health-conscious consumers, who appreciate it for its high level of antioxidants and lack of caffeine.  This Red Rooibos is an exquisite certified organic and fair trade certified red tea from the highest mountain peaks of South Africa. Rooibos is an ultra fine, delicate tea and once brewed it produces a hearty red color with a warm scent. Rooibos holds a superior, natural sweetness that is unsurpassed and drinks down like Kukicha twig tea-smooth and succulent with an aromatic after taste. This tea is very high in anti-oxidants, trace minerals, and nutrients. Our Red Rooibos tea is Fair Trade certified and does not contain caffeine.
In South Africa it is more usual to drink Rooibos with milk and sugar, but elsewhere it is usually served without.  BREWING:  Pour boiling water over the tea leaves and steep for at least 5 minutes before serving.  Rooibos gets better and better the longer it is brewed.

Green Rooibos:  [rui-bose]

Same plant as the Red Rooibos but unfermented, with a light, delicately tangy and herb-flowery character.  The attribute that makes this tea an unusual variety when compared to Red Rooibos tea, is that it is completely unfermented, it contains a slightly herbal aftertaste, and brews light in color which makes it a perfect companion to those that feel regular Rooibos is too sweet. Green Rooibos is a hearty tea and once brewed it produces a soft golden color with an amber hue, and warm scent. This tea is considerably higher in anti-oxidants, trace minerals, and nutrients, when compared to traditional Rooibos, which helps to explain its explosive popularity with those of us who are health conscious. Our Green Rooibos tea is Fair Trade certified and does not contain caffeine.

Green Tea:

Green tea is one of the richest natural sources of antioxidants. Most of the published health research on Green tea has been in regard to preventing disease, such as certain types of cancer, but other health benefits from green tea have been studied in test tube, human and animal trials with many positive results. Green tea is loaded with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. As chemists investigate how Green Tea works its medicinal magic, they have zeroed in on a family of antioxidants known as catechins. Catechins are members of the flavenoids family and are naturally occurring in a number of plant-derived foods. Some of the catechins in Green tea are more powerful then a number of familiar antioxidants.   Extensive research confirms the high anti-oxidant and poly phenol activity found in green tea, and it comes highly recommended as a general cleansing beverage.  BREWING:  Because of the caffeine content, green tea should be prepared using small amounts of tea leaves and steeped no longer than 1-2 minutes. Pour water over tea leaves just before it begins to boil.  Contains caffeine.

About Our Selection of Green Tea

Sencha: This organic green Sencha leaf tea from Japan is a delicate, stimulating beverage made from the season's fresh harvest of the first young leaves. The handpicked tealeaves from the high mountaintops of Japan are immediately steamed to retain their peak flavor and vibrant, brilliant, green color.

Gunpowder: This Fair Trade Certified green tea is hearty and strong, full of dark bold color and a striking taste that is unforgettable. This special green tea is rolled into small pellets and was aptly awarded its title, because of its resemblance to the pellets used for gunpowder ammunitions during the 17th century. Originally rolled tightly to preserve freshness and maintain moisture during long voyages overseas, it still holds true as an unsurpassable fresh tea that is astringent and mildly bitter, but the taste is softened by the addition of spearmint.

Kukicha Twig Tea:

This is probably one of the most opulent blends from the green tea family. It has a unique brand of full bodied sweetness that is traditionally more agreeable with seniors and children. Kukicha is harvested from the carefully-aged twigs and stems of the tea plant. After the correct aging, the twigs are toasted, providing a lightly flavored tea with a taste reminiscent of nectar sweetness. Mild, and soothing, Kukicha twig tea is quite low in caffeine and for most people it can be enjoyed at any hour. Contains caffeine.

You need less Green Tea leaves to brew a cup or a pot of tea, so these teas will last you longer
